Five Things I Miss About Being Part of Canada (Don't @ Me)

Dont at me, I know how this sounds, but I have a list, I have had it for a while, and today I am just going to say it out loud instead of only in the car with the windows up.

Number one, health cards. The old ones just worked, anywhere, no forms, no ministry approval letter, no six hour wait to get a doctor to look at a kid's ear.

Number two, also health cards, I am putting it twice because it deserves it.

Number three, a passport that gets you somewhere other than the one country that recognizes it, which is us, we recognize our own passport, thats the whole list of countries.

Number four, an airline. Any airline. I miss the concept of flying somewhere for a wedding instead of driving two days each way with seven kids asking are we there yet in surround sound.

Number five, and this one is small, but I miss the weather app actually working, ours has been wrong for four days straight, and I do not think thats a coincidence so much as a metaphor.

I have two more of these saved that I am too nervous to post, mostly having to do with money and how it used to hold its value for longer than a grocery trip, but I will save those for a week when I am feeling braver, or a week when the Ministry newsletter has bigger things to worry about than me.

Anyway. Dont at me. I said it. I feel lighter, actually, which was not what I expected.
